Gyeongnidan-gil, which sits in the direction of Namsan Tunnel 3 from Exit 2 of Noksapyeong Station, is one of Itaewon’s trendiest streets.
The official name of this street is Hoenamu-gil, and it gained its nickname Gyeongnidan-gil from the former division of the Ministry of National Defense’s Central Finance Corps called “Gyeongnidan.”
The area became home to many international residents early on influenced by the nearby US Army base. News of the newly populated multicultural area began to spread with the increase of Western restaurants and bars! Soon after, Gyeongnidan-gil became frequented by expatriates and tourists searching for their local cuisines.
Gyeongnidan-gil began to grow not only in population, but also popularity as one of Seoul’s representative tourist attractions with its unique and exotic atmosphere lined with restaurants, cafes and ateliers.
