COVID-19 has led to the establishment of “contactless” lifestyles and is accelerating digital transformation. Digital transformation in the biomedical sciences field, in particular, is drawing attention as a trigger in the era of Industry 4.0 across all sectors from big data and artificial intelligence (AI) to new drug and medical instrument development, clinical study and translational research, and digital pathology.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) is hosting the 5th Seoul International Biomedical Conference on Thu, Oct. 7 and Fri, Oct. 8 to exchange and share the domestic and international digital transformation-related biomedical technologies and trends. This event has been held annually since 2016 with a goal to activate the biomedical industry, which is being intensively fostered for economic growth and quality job creation in the future. In the past, the conference had been held under the theme of business establishment in the biomedical field and industry growth. This year, however, participants will discuss “biomedical industry innovation through digital transformation” in line with global trends.
On day 1 of the event, domestic and international speakers of the highest prestige will present and share the latest information on digital transformation and success strategies, such as a keynote speech by the CEO of a company that developed the world’s first digital therapeutics. On day 2, global open collaboration, investment fair, and consulting sessions with multinational pharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson, will be held to support the growth of startups.
The details and schedules of the 5th Seoul International Bio Medical Conference can be found on the official event website (www.bioseoul.or.kr). Considering the situation of the pandemic, the event will be held online and the conference on the first day will be livestreamed via YouTube.
