    The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has established “Seoul Vision 2030” as a master plan to guide the city for the next decade until 2030 to be up and running again as a fair city.

    Seoul Vision 2030 aims to restore Seoul’s hierarchical mobility ladder and give fair opportunities to all individuals while also restoring Seoul’s global urban competitiveness to create a charming Seoul that attracts people, businesses and investments.

    The SMG is holding the Seoul Vision 2030 Theme Song & Jingle Contest under the theme of “Seoul, Up and Running Again as a Fair City,” and public participation is highly encouraged.

    1. Overview
    ▸ Contest: Seoul Vision 2030 Theme Song & Jingle Contest
    ▸ Theme: “Seoul, Up and Running Again as a Fair City”
    ▸ Categories: Theme song (max. 20 seconds) and jingle (max. 5 seconds)
    ▸ Eligibility: Open to the public (domestic & international); individuals and teams (up to 3 members)
    ▸ Awards: Total prize money of KRW 9 million (1 first, 2 second, 4 third, and 10 runner-up), and certificate of Mayor’ Award

    Schedule
    ▸ Submissions: Fri, Oct. 1 – Tue, Oct. 12, 2021
    ▸ Announcement: Wed, Oct. 20, 2021 (contacted individually and posted on the SMG website)
    ▸ Awards ceremony: Late October 2021

    2. Theme: “Seoul, Up and Running Again as a Fair City”
    ▸ Vision: Seoul, a city of guaranteed hierarchical mobility for a better life, a city of fairness and coexistence, and an equitable city of global competitiveness
    ▸ Four future directions : A city of coexistence; a global city; a safe city; a future city

    – Required: Audio source, and music score (including Korean lyrics)
    – Length: Max. 20 seconds
    – Format: Audio source as mp3 (recommended) or wma file, and music score as jpg or pdf (recommended) file
    Jingle ○ Short song that features Seoul’s city brand, products, slogan, etc.
    – Required: Audio source, and music score
    – Length: Max. 5 seconds
    – Format: Audio source as mp3 (recommended) or wma file, and music score as jpg or pdf (recommended) file

    * Jingle: A marketing technique that instantly brings to mind a brand and product upon hearing a specified sound or melody matched with an image; a representative jingle is that of Intel.

    5. Use
    ▸ Theme song: Use as ringback tone, etc.
    ▸ Use for promotional advertisements and videos of the Seoul Vision 2030 campaign

    6. Note
    ▸ A submitted work must be an original work.
    ▸ Submission must be in compliance with the Copyright Act. All issues concerning the copyright to music, videos and images must be resolved before making a submission, and all legal responsibilities of civil and penal matters regarding the copyrights of submitted works fall on the person submitting the work.
    ▸ Winning works of other contests, works taken from others, fraudulent works, and plagiarized works will be disqualified from being short-listed, and any that are chosen as a winning work will be disqualified and confiscated after discovery of fault.
    ▸ People whose works are selected for judgement or short-listed are required to submit the original file(s) and any related document(s) for confirmation of qualification of participation as requested by the managing organization, and the failure to submit the required forms will result in exemption from judgment.
    ▸ All or partial short-listed works may not be selected in accordance with the results of the number of works submitted or judged.
    ▸ All rights of submitted works belong to the submitter, and the SMG reserves the right to reproduce and distribute short-listed works for up to five years.
    ▸ Following the announcement of the winning works, the SMG obtains the right to acquire all or partial intellectual property rights of the winning works after a mutual agreement is made with the prize winners.
    ▸ The SMG obtains the right to creatively modify and use all or parts of the short-listed works through the acquirement of the adaptation rights after a mutual agreement is made with the prize winners.
    ▸ In the case that return of a non-winning work is requested by the person who submitted the work before the termination of the submitted works (non-winning works are terminated within 3 months from the last day of contest submissions), the work will be returned to the owner, and all additional costs that occur during the return process must be paid by the owner of the returned work.
    ▸ Schedule details of the contest are subject to change, and all changes will be announced via the SMG website.
